2008 Cookstown 100 Preview by Baylon McCaughey
Tuesday, 22 April 2008
The 2008 Cookstown 100 looks set to be the best ever, with an entry bristling with quality as well as quanity!.
For the first time, the local organizing club are endeavouring to take on a Massive 16 RACE PROGRAMME! So you certainly cannot be disappointed at that!
With as good an entry as can be expected, with the return of Ryan Farquhar and Martin Finnegan, both past winners over the Orritor circuit, along with a winner on his debut here last year, Keith Amor, add in the newcomers, who will add spice to the entry, Gary Johnson, who now rides for Uel Duncans team, and has been top newcomer at last years NW200 and UGP, he was eclipsed at the IOM TT for the same award by Steve Plater, but nevertheless, has shone in the early race meetings over the short circuits which he has never seen before, so expect him to be up front here at Cookstown

Rob Frost, a rider who has had more knocks tan I care to remember, but now back on track again and began his season in style at the infamous Daytona 200 mile event.

Mark Buckley, will ride a Triumph and is one not to be discounted,Former double Manx Grand prix winner Craig Atkinson is also in the line up, as is Ivan Lintin, who rode so well here in the support last year, but didn’t make his road race debut until the Tandragee meeting, and hence will be a newcomer next week at Cookstown.
