Making their Irish road race debut at the Tandragee and KDM Hire Cookstown 100 will be German rider, Mathias Winkenjohann and Greek rider Vassilios Takos. Both riders made their debut on Irish soil last year at the Irish championship short circuit race meeting at St Angeleo,
Mathias comes from a twin called Bielefeld, which is the twin town of Enniskillen! And has been racing a couple of years mostly at tracks in Germany, Czech Republic and Spain, such as, Nurburgring,Hengelo, Fischereihafenrennen , Lausitzring, Bilster Berg, Salzburgring and Brno.
At the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, Mathias will take part in the Open and the senior support classes on board his Kawasaki ZX636.
It will be the first time , for quite a few years to be riding a supersport bike again, normally he rides a Kawasaki ZX10R. A self employed industrial engineer, Mathias is Thankful to his sponsors; Kawasaki EMG Eickmeyer and WiMoTech Industrial Engineering.
Travelling with Mathias will be Vassilios Takos, hailing from Jerez in Greece, Vassilios is a self employed Insurance clerk, and also lives in Biefield. Takos will participate in the open race son his R1 Yamaha, and has competed in road events in Holland, Austria, Belgium, Czech republic, Frohburg, Horice, Chimay, Hengelo Fischereihafenrennen, along with endurance races and hillclimbs.
